Art Explorers Curriculum: A 36-Week Journey
Welcome to the "Art Explorers" program! This 36-week curriculum provides a structured yet creative path to developing fundamental art skills, exploring diverse media, and fostering a lifelong appreciation for art history and creative expression.
Classes meet weekly for two hours, allowing ample time for comprehensive instruction, hands-on creation, and meaningful reflection.
Our goal is to move beyond simple "crafts"
and introduce students to formal artistic concepts.
By the end of the program, students will be able to:
Understand the Elements of Art (Line, Shape, Color, Value, Texture, Form, Space).
Explore Various Media (Pencils, watercolor, clay, collage, printmaking materials).
Develop Technical Skills (Observational drawing, color mixing, perspective, sculpting).
Appreciate Art History (Learn about famous artists and different cultural styles).
Express Creativity and confidently discuss their own work and the work of peers.
The program is broken down into seven modules, each building upon the last:
